The club are absolutely delighted to announce that Northamptonshire’s Alex Wakely will be joining us for the 2010 season.
Last season, Northants Cricket trialled a new scheme which allowed some of
their leading young players to join NCL Premier Division clubs to gain new
experience leading from the front in a club environment. The scheme
continues this year and after some recent contact with county 2nd XI coach
David Ripley, we have signed Alex.
Alex is a powerful, top order right hand bat and off spin bowler. A former England Under 19 captain, Alex scored his maiden first class hundred for Northamptonshire last season and was a regular member of the 1st XI squad throughout the summer.
The club are delighted that once again, Northants Cricket have trusted us to assist them with the development of one of their most promising young players. I’m sure you will join me in welcoming Alex to the club when he joins us next season.
